Welcome to the beginning of another school year! We are excited about this year's Fall Institute and look forward to having every Learn & Serve school represented. We will be at the beautiful Savannah Hyatt Regency on Riverstreet so bring your appetite for seafood, fun, and lots of learning and sharing. To expedite registration, we will process registrations online. If you have problems registering, please contact Vickie Scotland, Conference Facilitator, at vickies@uga.edu, or call the League office at 1-800-578-2516. Please register by September 3rd. We need to know how many registrants there are in order to prepare sufficient material and to inform the hotel for catering purposes. Click here to register.Conference Fees:
Each Learn & Serve school can send up to 4 participants to the League's Fall Institute. Additional participants are welcome to attend at an additional cost of $125.00 per person. For additional participants, please mail your registration to the League office at 315 Aderhold Hall, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia 30602, with a check made payable to the League of Professional Schools to the attention of Vickie Scotland.Hotel Registration:
Please contact the Savannah Hyatt to make your hotel reservations. When making your reservations, please inform the reservationists that you are making reservations under the League of Professional School's room block. Room rates are $122/night (single or double). Conference room rates will be honored until August 25th. Parking at the Hyatt is strictly valet at a rate of $10.00 a day. Learn & Serve Leadership Institute:
The Learn & Serve Leadership meeting will be held on Sunday, September 26th from 3:00 - 5:00p.m at the Hyatt Regency. At this meeting we will continue our work together to learn how to imbed service learning into our schools' instructional practices and curricular choices so that student achievement is improved.Registration Sign-in:
Registration will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26th and from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27th.Welcome Social:
Please join us for door prizes, refreshments, and fun as we welcome old friends, as well as new friends, to the beautiful city of Savannah. The social will take place Sunday, September 26th from 5:00 - 6:30p.m. from the scenic patio of the Hyatt. Enjoy fabulous views of the Savannah River and Riverstreet as we kick off a new school year!Moonlight Entertainment Cruise (optional):
Get your dancing shoes ready! The League will host their annual Moonlight Riverboat Entertainment Cruise for your evening enjoyment. Please join us on Monday, September 27 th on this unforgettable 2-hour cruise. The boat will open for boarding at 9:00p.m and we take sail at 9:30p.m. If you don't feel like dancing, just sit back and enjoy the music as we cruise down the Savannah River. On deck, there will be a cash bar and a snack bar open for you to purchase light snacks and beverages. The group discounted cruise fare, which includes a private deck with entertainment, is $14.50 per person. We must have a total of at 40 participants to receive this special rate. If the cruise is cancelled because we do not meet the minimum requirements, your checks will be returned to you at the conference . The deadline to register for the cruise is September 6 th .
