Why is the League deepening its work from focusing on democratic governance and action research to democratic learning?

The mission of the League has always been about democracy and education, and now we plan to focus more specifically on curriculum, assessment, and classroom practices that enable students to improve their academic achievements through gaining skills they will need to become lifelong learners and contributing members of our democratic society. This is essential if we are to improve the quality of student learning and increase the capabilities of our next generation of citizens.
